In the census for 1801 the "Bacher" farm in Eidsberg was owned and farmed by John Gudmundsen, 64 years old. He was married to 60 year old Martha Iversdatter and at the time they had 4 sons with them:
- John Johnsen, 30 years old, dragoon [dragon];
- Amund Johnsen, 24, dragoon;
- Gudmund Johnsen, 21, drago;
- Ole Johnsen, 17.
