General Notes: Ole was from Prestby in Spydeberg. In 1919 he bought the Fjell (u. Øvre Rud) farm in Askim for 6000 kr. He was previously a cottager on Kjellegård and a farm manager on Mellom-Rom, but he mainly worked as a blacksmith. Research Notes: The census for 1900 shows his year of birth as 1867. Noted events in his life were: • He was a blacksmith [smed] in 1900 in Spydeberg, Østfold, Norway. Ole married Emma Sofie Martinsen. (Emma Sofie Martinsen was born in 1864 in Spydeberg, Østfold, Norway.) Marriage Notes: In the census for 1900 they were living on Østhytten in Spydeberg. They had five of their children with them: Karoline, Olaf, Olga, Elise, and Inga. 2 |
