  General Notes:

Karl and Oline were on the Foss (u. Nedre Rud) farm in Askim for a while. They had their daughter Klara Marie there in 1876.

Karl was a cottager on the Byfram (u. Guderud) farm in Askim from the end of the 1870's. He was a cottager on the Bakker (u. Eidareng) farm from the mid 1880's until the end of the 1890's. He was a cottager on the Engen farm in the 1890's.

Before the end of the century he moved to the Fjellbu (u. Mellom-Grøttvet) farm with his brother Hans. In 1919 Karl and his son Andreas got the deed to Fjellbu.

His marriage record shows a birthdate of 4/5 51.


Karl married Oline Johannesdatter, daughter of Johan Olsen Skaarer and Unknown, on 12 Jun 1874 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Oline Johannesdatter was born on 30 Apr 1852 in Skykkelstad, Eidsberg, Østfold, Norway and died in 1932.)


  Marriage Notes:

In the census for 1900 they were cottagers with land on Fjeldbo (husm.plads) in Askim. With them they had their daughter Klara Marie, their two sons Karl Johan and Andreas, and a fosterson [pleiesøn] Jens Olaf Hansen who was born in 1896 in Askim. Jens Olaf was the son of Karl's brother Hans whose wife had recently died. 7
