Sogneprest Hiort wrote in 1769 that Ole lived in the greatest poverty with his wife and 5 children, "pga. at kornet, som er det eneste bøndene her i sognet har at svare skatt med, har slått feil i disse åringene".

Ole married Inger Olsdatter Grøttvet on 28 Dec 1756 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.¹ (Inger Olsdatter Grøttvet was born circa Feb 1722, died in Aug 1759 in nordre Ilen, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 26 Aug 1759 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.)

Ole next married Johanne Bjertsdatter on 28 Feb 1760 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.² (Johanne Bjertsdatter was born circa 1739 and died in 1782.)
