The census for 1900 shows her year of birth as 1893. She was living with her parents and siblings on the Ueland farm in Hæskestad, Rogaland.

Thyra married Helge Ollestad, son of Helge Ollestad and Gund Tønnesdatter. (Helge Ollestad was born in 1891 in Heskestad, , Rogaland, Norway and died in 1981.)
