Halvor was from Grue in Solør. At the time he was a road-laborer in Askim.

Halvor married Olea Halvorsdatter, daughter of Halvor Olsen Pyth and Sissel Nilsdatter, on 24 Jan 1857 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.¹ (Olea Halvorsdatter was born on 6 Feb 1821 in Pyth, Eidsberg, Østfold, Norway, christened on 25 Feb 1821 in Eidsberg, Østfold, Norway, died on 22 Nov 1882 in Hoffstegen, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 29 Nov 1882 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.)

  Marriage Notes:

When they married Halvor was 31¾ years old and Olea was 34. His father was recorded as Halvor Halvorsen and hers was Halvor Olsen.

Halvor and Olea were cottagers on the Byfram farm under Ilen in Askim in the 1850's. In about 1865 they were cottagers on Askimhytta and in the early 1870's they were on Kløverud. They farmed Kløverud ca. 1870-75. The census of 1875 shows the family living on Østreng under Gudim. ¹
