Johannes married Anne Sofia Frantzdatter Skrigerud, daughter of Frants Torstensen and Unknown, on 27 Dec 1855 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.¹ (Anne Sofia Frantzdatter Skrigerud was born circa 1834 in Trøgstad, Østfold, Norway.)

  Marriage Notes:

When they married Johannes was 33 years old and Anne Sofia was 21. He was from the Odalen farm in Askim and his father was Berger Christofersen. She was from the Skrigerud farm [in Trøgstad] and her father was Frants Torstensen. The best men at their marriager were Peder Haugen and Henrik Holter.

They were married "... i 1855, 3. juledag, ...".

They were on the Frøhol farm in Askim in December 1860 when their daughter Julie was christened.

In the census for 1865 Johannes and Sofie were cottagers with land on the Stenerud farm in Kraakstad, Akershus. They had three daughters with them. ^{1 4}
