Emil married Inger Marie Syversdatter Mysen, daughter of Syver Ingebretsen Nord-Mysen and Johanne Henrichsdatter Berger. (Inger Marie Syversdatter Mysen was born on 22 Sep 1861 in Eidsberg, Østfold, Norway and died on 1 Jan 1949.)

They were living on Grini in Spydeberg in March 1888 and on Grini mellum in March 1891. They were on Grini nordre in July 1895.
