  General Notes:

Johan Henrik Martiniussen took over the søndre Katralen farm in Askim when his father died in 1893 for 4000 kr. In 1897 he sold it to his sister's husband, Johan Pettersen, for 4000 kr.

Johan Henrik Martiniussen moved to Haga. Later, in 1907, he bought Dal under Moen for 1600 kr. His family took the name Dahl.

  Noted events in his life were:

• He was a construction carpenter [Bygningstømmermand] in 1900 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.


Johan married Hilda Mathea Hansen, daughter of Hans Kristian Olsen and Helene Torersdatter, on 29 Dec 1893 in Askim church, Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Hilda Mathea Hansen was born on 19 Nov 1866 in Kullebunn, Skiptvet, Østfold, Norway and died in 1938.)


  Marriage Notes:

In the census for 1900 they lived on the Haga (bnr. 1) farm in Askim. They farmed there but didn't own it. They had their two surviving daughters and Henrik's step-sister Gina with them. Gina was the nanny for the daughters.

They were living on the Dal farm in October 1913. 3 5
