General Notes:
Karl Hilmar took over the vestre Halstvet farm in Askim after his father's brother for 32 000 kr in 1920. The farm had been in the family for more than 200 years.
Research Notes:
In the census for 1900 Karl H. Halstvedt was unmarried and was one of many occupants at Munkedamsveien 37 in Kristiania. His brother Anthon also lived there.
Noted events in his life were:
• He was a sergeant, electrician, engineer [Sergeant, Elektriskarb. Ingeniør] in 1900 in Kristiania, Norway.
Karl married Hilda Langli, daughter of Martin C. Langeli and Johanne Langeli. (Hilda Langli was born on 23 Oct 1877 in Langli, Skiptvet, Østfold, Norway and died in 1962.)
