Johan Martin Johansen was from Jordet in Skiptvet. In about the 1890's he and his family lived on the øvre Hol farm in Askim and took the family name "Hoel". He was working for Roms Nikkelverk when he married.

  Research Notes:

In the census for 1865 he was 26 years old, unmarried, and a servant on the Holmerud søndre farm for Lars Larsen and Anne Olsdatter. 4


Johan married Sara Margrete Andreassen. (Sara Margrete Andreassen was born in 1837 in Vamnes, Skiptvet, Østfold, Norway and died in 1934.)
