Another name for Johanne was Johanne Evensdatter Moen. General Notes: After Mattias died, Johanne stuck with the vestre Moen farm in Askim up to 1884. In those days there were enough others who farmed the farm for her. Research Notes: In the census for 1865 Johanne was a 36 year old widow. She owned the Moen (90a2) farm in Askim and had 2 sons and a daughter with her: Alfred (8), Alete (6), and Emil (4). Also on the farm was a servant, 27 year old Hans Svendsen, born in Askim. 3 Johanne married Mattias Andersen, son of Anders Simensen and Olea Hansdatter, on 1 Oct 1857 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Mattias Andersen was born on 1 Sep 1825 in Moen, Askim, Østfold, Norway, christened on 4 Sep 1825 in Askim church, Askim, Østfold, Norway, died on 26 Feb 1864 in Moen, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 8 Mar 1864.) Marriage Notes: When they married Mathis was 32 years old and Johanne was 29. He was from the Moen farm and his father was Anders Simensen. Her father was Even Andersen. The best men at their marriage were Christen Moen and Johan Holen. Johanne had a child with Hans Svendsen. (Hans Svendsen was born circa 1839 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.) Marriage Notes: Hans Svendsen was unmarried in 1868 when he and Johanna had a daughter, Milla Almine. |
