   Other names for Gulbrand were Gulbrand Olsen Haugen and Heller.

  General Notes:

Gulbrand got the Haugen farm in Askim in his mother's will of 25 February 1774, for 350 rdl. On 05 February 1803 he sold the farm to his future son-in-law, Mathias Hansen, for 1099 rdl. and pension. But Mathias died less than 2 years later. Gulbrand was then sick and bedridden, and it was his faithful servant through many years, Hans Tronsen, who took on the farm. Gulbrand Olsen and Hans Tronsen both died in 1806.

When he died he was 79 years old.

Gulbrand next married Mari Gudmundsdatter, daughter of Gudmund Torersen Bakker and Kirstine Jonsdatter. (Mari Gudmundsdatter was born in 1749.)


  Marriage Notes:

Mari was a widow when she married Gulbrand Olsen.

In 1801 Gulbrand and Mari were on the Haugen farm in Askim with their daughter Maria and their servant Hans Tronsen. Gulbrand was 74 and Mari was 52, both in their second marriage. Maria was 20 and unmarried, and Hans was 34 years old and unmarried. 5
