   Another name for Mattias was Mathiis Andersøn Steenbøll.

  General Notes:

It is not certain who Mattias Andersen was, but it is suggested that he was a son of Anders Olsen Tovengen.

From the end of the 1750's Mattias farmed on Stenbøl in Askim with his father-in-law, Halvor Evensen. Mattias took over half the farm when Halvor died in 1779, and in 1782 he bought the other half from his mother-in-law for 250 rdl.

In 1787 Mattias sold half the farm to his son, Lars, and Stenbøl was divided into two parts from 1787-1795. Mattias farmed the Bruk 1 until 1793. He sold it to his son, Anders, for 200 rdl.

When he died his age was recorded as 61 years 3 months 3 weeks and 3 days.


Mattias married Margrete Halvorsdatter Stenbøl, daughter of Halvor Evensen and Randi Jonsdatter, on 20 Oct 1757 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Margrete Halvorsdatter Stenbøl was born circa 1735 in Eidsberg, Østfold, Norway, died in Jun 1798 in Stenbøl, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 24 Jun 1798 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.)
