Marte was the sister of Isak Eriksen who sold the Gutu farm in Askim to her husband.

Marte married Gudmund Sjøllersen Gutu, son of Sjøller Svensen and Ambjørg Jensdatter, on 19 Apr 1787 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.¹ (Gudmund Sjøllersen Gutu was born in 1751 in nordre Ilen, Askim, Østfold, Norway, died in Feb 1809 in Gutu, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 26 Feb 1809 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.)

  Marriage Notes:

In 1801 the family was on Søndre Rud in Askim. Gudmund was 50 and Marthe was 39 years old. With them were: four children (Jens was not listed); Christen Hansen, an unmarried 50 year old relative of Gudmund's who was deaf and mute, and lived off his inheritance; and Isach Erichsen who was Marthe's 40 year old unmarried brother and had recently sold his farm. ⁴

Marte next married Kristen Pedersen on 24 Nov 1812 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.² (Kristen Pedersen was born in 1762 and died in 1817.)
