In the census for 1865 his parents owned the Onstad (141a) farm. Anton was then 24 years old, unmarried and helping his father with the farmwork.


Anton married Johanne Isaksdatter, daughter of Unknown and Hellene Olsdatter. (Johanne Isaksdatter was born in 1844 in Skiptvet, Østfold, Norway.)

In the 1900 census Anton and Johanne owned and farmed the Onstad søndre farm in Skiptvet. They had three sons with them. 1
