General Notes:
She mother was a courier for the resistance during the war, and a student at the University of Oslo. After the war she was hired by UNESCO in Paris as a translator. She met Tom in London; he had been assigned to the 8th Air Force. They eventually settled in Southern California, where Tom worked for Lockheed and where Ruth was the most elegant den mother that her son's cub scout buddies ever saw. She died quite suddenly in '69 but not before introducing her son to her native country, where Steve had the privlige to spend several summers with her friends and their children, who he has kept in touch with. Steve has sent his kids to Kragerø for the summer and they have sent theirs to South Carolina.
Ruth married Tom Hinman on 11 Sep 1948.
