In the census for 1865 Ole was 14 years old and living on the Skrømsledalen farm in Spydeberg with his mother, stepfather, and fosterbrother. Ole was called "deres Stifsøn (Konens uægte Søn)". Ole's mother was not married when he was born.

Ole married Alette Hansdatter. (Alette Hansdatter was born in 1845 in Spydeberg, Østfold, Norway.)

  Marriage Notes:

In the census for 1900 they owned and farmed the Hallerud farm in Spydeberg. They had an unmarried son and four unmarried daughters living with them. Their married daughter, Inga Lystad, was visiting from Kristiania with her young daughter Aagot. ¹
