   Other names for Maren were Maren Henriksdatter Grøtvedtgrina and Maren Henriksen Torp.

  General Notes:

In 1865 she lived on part of the Hoff farm in Askim owned by Kristen Hansen. She was 41 years old and a day labourer. She had two daughters with her: Mathea Olsdatter (13) and Caroline Mathisdatter (3).

In 1875 Maren lived on the Honshytta farm in Askim and is probably the last person to farm it. Her situation was described as unmarried but she had two daughters. Her daughter's son, Karl Henrik Halvorsen, also lived there in 1875.

In 1900 Maren lived with her daughter Karoline and her son-in-law Thorvald Halvorsen on the Torp (gnr.68, bnr.1) farm in Askim.

  Research Notes:

Her year of birth is also recorded as 1824. Her date of birth is also recorded as 06 Feb 1825 but her baptism record confirms 11 Feb 1825.


Maren had a child with Ole Mattisen.


Maren had a child with Mathis Andersen, son of Anders Nielsen Hoel and Johanne Maria Markusdatter. (Mathis Andersen was born in 1837 in Bovind, Haabøl, Østfold, Norway and was christened on 30 Apr 1837.)
