Noted events in his life were: • He was a rifleman [gevorben mand] in 1801 in Enger, Askim, Østfold, Norway. 5 • He was a rifleman and army drummer? [geworben tambur] in 1806. Henrik married Eli Torsdatter, daughter of Tor Mattiassen and Kristense Tomasdatter Måsan, on 30 Dec 1799 in Enger, Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Eli Torsdatter was born in 1777 in Moseby, Askim, Østfold, Norway and died in 1817-1818.) Marriage Notes: Henrik and Eli lived on the Knebrett farm in Askim in 1804 to 1808. Only their two daughters, Maria and Johanne, are mentioned at that time. They also lived on Kastdalen and Grøttvetgrinda. Henrik had a child with Anikken Olsdatter. (Anikken Olsdatter was born circa 1783, died on 7 Nov 1856 in Netthaug, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 14 Nov 1856.) Marriage Notes: In 1820 widower Henrik Hansen had a daughter Johanne with widow Anikken Olsdatter. At that time they were recorded as Hendrich Hansen Enger og Annekken Olsdatter Maasebye Ødegaarden. Johanne was later married with Kristen Olsen Kjellås/Myra. 2 Henrik next married Kirsti Kristiansdatter Smedby on 17 Nov 1820 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.2 (Kirsti Kristiansdatter Smedby was born circa 1780.) Marriage Notes: Henrik's first wife, Eli, died shortly after giving birth to their son Elias in 1817. In 1818 Henrik and Kirsti Kristiansdatter Smedby had twin daughters Maria and Ellen. |
