Another name for Karl was Carl Martin. General Notes: From 1893 until 1898 Karl Martin Katralen farmed the vestre Katralen farm in Askim. In 1898 he took over his father's farm, nordre Katralen for 9000 kr. Research Notes: His year of birth may be an error. His second wife, Oline, apparently married twice more after his death and before she died in 1961. Karl married Anne Dorthea Johannesdatter, daughter of Johannes Andersen Gurud and Maren Johanne Davidsdatter, on 19 Jun 1891 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Anne Dorthea Johannesdatter was born on 19 Oct 1862 in Gurud, Askim, Østfold, Norway, christened on 23 Nov 1862 in Askim, Østfold, Norway, died in May 1910 in Katralen, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 10 May 1910.) Marriage Notes: In the census for 1900 they owned and farmed the Katralen (bnr. 3) farm in Askim. They had their first four children and Karl's widowed father with them. Karl next married Oline Hoel, daughter of Johan Martin Johansen Hoel and Sara Margrete Andreassen, after 1910. (Oline Hoel was born in 1873 and died in 1961.) |
