He is possibly the same person as Syver Torersen, born on Gudim in Askim in 1814, and died on Lier søndre on 03 Jul 1886. ⁴

Syver married Marte Andersdatter, daughter of Anders Olsen Massengen and Gunhild Syversdatter, on 13 Mar 1862 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.¹ (Marte Andersdatter was born on 6 Dec 1819 in Massengen, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was christened on 12 Dec 1819 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.)

They moved to Spydeberg in 1862.

In the census for 1865 Syver and Marthe owned and farmed the Tharud nordere farm in Spydeberg. He was 53 years old and she was 46. They had 2 sons with them, Thorer and Hans J. Syversen. ³
