General Notes:
Holm Nielsen went to the Eidareng farm in Askim. His mother was raised there. He was known as Holm Nielsen Eringen. He got the deed to the farm with his inheritance from his mother in 1842 for 3500 spdl.
Like his father and his brothers Holm Nielsen was acive in the parish life. He was the first treasurer (?) [herredskasserer] in Askim, from 1838-39. He was chairman (?) [ordfører] in Askim 1852-53. During the same time his brother Christen was vice chairman [viseordfører].
On 28 June 1856 he bought the Radderud Vestre farm in Askim from his brother Nicolai Anton for 2250 Spdlr. He sold it to Ole Jørgen Iversen Lund on 03 January 1859 for 2400 Spdlr.
In the census for 1865 he was called Holm Nilsen Haraldstad. He then owned and farmed the Karlsrud farm in Røken, Buskerud. He was remarried, to 32 year old Elen Marie Hansdatter, and had his 17 year old daughter Anna Emilie with them.
Holm married Berthe Helene Jensdatter. (Berthe Helene Jensdatter was born circa 1802, died on 22 Oct 1857 in Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 2 Nov 1857.)
Holm next married Elen Marie Hansdatter. (Elen Marie Hansdatter was born circa 1834 in Hofs.)
