Anders Nilsen ^{1 2}

   Another name for Anders was Anders Nielsen.

  General Notes:

In 1848 Anders Nilsen bought the Galtebu farm in Askim for 3300 kr. He had come from Nordby in Rakkestad.

  Research Notes:

In the census for 1900 he was called Anton. He was a widower and lived with his daughter Johanne's family on the Jahren (bnr. 1) farm in Askim. His year of birth was listed as 1821.

When he died it was recorded that he was born in Askim in 1821. ⁴

Anders married Berte Elisabeth Olsdatter. (Berte Elisabeth Olsdatter was born in 1822 in Rakkestad, Østfold, Norway and died in 1876.)

  Marriage Notes:

In 1865 they owned and farmed the Galtebu farm. Anders Nielsen and Elisabet Olsdatter were both 44 years old. They had their four daughters and son with them. ⁵
