Other names for Hans were Hans Kristian Andersen and Hans Christian Andreassen Lundsrud. General Notes: He was a cottager on the Halstvethytta (also called Fosser) farm in Askim in the early 1860's. He was using the Grina farm (under Dallerud) in Askim 1863-65. In 1868 Hans Kristian moved to Buskilsrudplass in Eidsberg, and Halstvethytta was taken over by his brother-in-law, Andreas Mattisen. Research Notes: The 1865 census shows him as 29 years old living on the Holstvedt farm in Askim with his wife and children. He was called "Husmand med Jord, Tømmerfløder". Noted events in his life were: • He was a tømmerfløter [raftsman, or lumberjack] from circa 1860 to 1865 in Askim, Østfold, Norway. Hans married Marthine Mathisdatter Halstvedtplads, daughter of Mattis Laurits Hansen Haga and Marte Kristensdatter, on 21 Mar 1861 in Askim church, Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Marthine Mathisdatter Halstvedtplads was born on 6 Feb 1837 in Grottenberg u. Toverud, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was christened on 12 Feb 1837 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.) Marriage Notes: In April 1863, when their son Carl Hilmar was baptised, they were recorded as Hans Christian Andreasen og Marthine Mathisdr Dallerudplads. |
