  General Notes:

Karl began learning cabinetmaking and joinery at a young age, and in 1904 he went to America where he worked as a cabinetmaker for 4 years. He went back to Norway in 1909, and in 1911 he took over his father's Søndre Lier farm, sections 1 and 3, that his father, Hans Petter Andersen Kogstad, had bought in 1905.

Karl got the deed from his father 16 September 1911 for both sections for 7000kr. In 1926 Karl also bought section 2, Lier Søndre Mellom, from Oscar Lier for 15 750 kr.

On 01 June 1950 Karl sold the Søndre Lier farm, all three sections, to his youngest son Henry Lier. The price was 60 000 kr.
