  General Notes:

Johannes was called "dreng" (servant) when he bought the Tangenholtet farm in Askim in 1851 for 150 spdl. It was also called Holtet. In all likelihood he bought it with his brother Karl. When Karl Olsen was married in 1860, he was called "selveier på Holtet". Karl bought the Myra (u. Rud) farm in Askim in 1860.

• He was confirmed on 1 Oct 1848 in Askim church, Askim, Østfold, Norway. He was 14½ years old and living on the Kjelaas farm.

Johannes married Maren Sofie Larsdatter. (Maren Sofie Larsdatter was born in 1829 in Spydeberg, Østfold, Norway.)

  Marriage Notes:

They were called Tangeholtet in January 1863 when their daughter Lena was christened.

The census of 1865 shows them as owning and farming the Tangeholtet (plads) in Askim. Johannes was 33 and Maren Sofie was 37 years old. Her son, Thorvald Theodorsen, and their children, Ove and Lina, were with them.

When their daughter Carine was christened in December 1872 they were recorded as Johannes Olsen Tangenholtet og Maren Sophie. ^{2 4}
