Other names for Kristian were Christian Christoffersen and Christian Christophersen. General Notes: Kristian was a cottager on the Nybråten farm in Askim from 01 January 1846. It was him that built the house there. He got the place for life. The yearly rent was 15 spdl. Medical Notes: He was 67 years old when he died. Kristian married Kari Pedersdatter Gurud, daughter of Peder Ellefsen Bøler and Kirsti Akselsdatter Gjevik. (Kari Pedersdatter Gurud was born in 1793, died on 8 Jun 1854 in Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 16 Jun 1854.) Kristian next married Sissel Johannesdatter, daughter of Johannes Halvorsen and Tore Svendsdatter Tømt, on 14 Jun 1859 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Sissel Johannesdatter was born on 15 Nov 1825 in Rom søndre, Askim, Østfold, Norway, christened on 20 Nov 1825 in Askim church, Askim, Østfold, Norway, died on 15 Apr 1888 in Korsvold, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 24 Apr 1888 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.) The cause of her death was pneumonia [lungebetennelse]. Marriage Notes: In the 1865 census they were cottagers with land on the Nybroten farm in Askim. Christian was 60 and Sessel was 41 years old.
