Anders Anundsen 1

  • Born: 1788
  • Marriage: Johanne Andrea Hansdatter Breche on 20 May 1812
  • Died: 1824 aged 36

Another name for Anders was Anders Anonsen.

  General Notes:

Anders was the fourth innkeeper at Fylpaa. He got his Royal warrant in 1812 with permission to run both the inn and a posting-station. On the farm he was allowed to brew beer, but not to make booze. Liquor had to be purchased in the nearest town. The Inn was for travellers only. Locals were not allowed on the premises. Anders ran the Inn till 1824.

The farm is first mentioned in 1399 by the name Bogerød as the property of the St. Olaf Monastery. In 1532 the farm was owned by the King and in 1700 by a farmer called Simen Olson.

According to history, the old main road from the capital of Norway (Oslo) to the southern regions went through the farm. Soon the farm became a sort of a junction where several main roads met. The farm became very important as a centre in the community. From 1730 and for about 100 years the farm had certain privileges as an inn and as a coaching station. The owners were innkeepers as well as farmers. For many years the local council had their meetings on the farm.

When and why the farm changed name from Bogerød to Fylpaa we do not know. In Norwegian Fyllpaa is spelled Fyllpå which mean "fill up". It is possible that the name of the Inn was Fyllpå and because of that, the name of the farm changed. Anyway, it is a fine story to tell!

The farm Fyllpå still exists.

Anders married Johanne Andrea Hansdatter Breche, daughter of Lieutenant Hans Jensen Breche and Elen Hansdatter, on 20 May 1812. (Johanne Andrea Hansdatter Breche was born in 1789 and died in 1869.)

  Marriage Notes:

This was Johanne's first marriage out of three.
