Karoline married Hans Gulbrandsen, son of Gulbrand Nilsen and Dorte Hansdatter, on 28 Dec 1874 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.¹ (Hans Gulbrandsen was born on 5 Mar 1842 in Løkenplads, Askim, Østfold, Norway, christened on 13 Mar 1842 in Askim, Østfold, Norway, died on 31 Dec 1921 in Solbergbråten, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 12 Jan 1922.)

In the census for 1900 they farmed the Toppen farm in Askim. They had a son and two daughters with them: Alfred, Helga, and Dagmar.
