In 1861 they bought up to 1/3 of the Moseby farm for 700 spdl. In the 1865 census they co-owned and farmed Kverne. Ole was 49 and Johan was 36 years old. With them were their 75 year old widowed father and their 40 year old sister Sofie who ran the house. All were unmarried.
