Frans Kristensen Oraug bought the Enger farm in Askim in 1806 and moved there. He bought the søndre Torp farm in Askim at auction in 1807 for 1652 rdl.
"I 1790 hadde Frans kjøpte halve Askim kirke med underliggende gods. Askim kirke hadde rettigheter i 1 skpd. 2 1/2 lisp. i Oraug. Da Frans solgte Oraug, ble disse rettighetene overført til Enger og ytre Torp, som Frans nå hadde kjøpt."

Frans married Sissel Olsdatter, daughter of Ole Fransen and Tore Jonsdatter, on 2 Nov 1775 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Sissel Olsdatter was born in 1744 and died in 1821.)

When they married they were recorded as Frans Christensøn Oroug og Sissel Olsdatter store Ruud.
In the 1801 census the family is listed on the "Osang" farm in Askim. This must be Oraug. Frans and Sissel are both shown as 52 years old. Her age is probably shown incorrectly in the census given the ages of her siblings. He was in his first marriage and she in her second. Their four surviving children were with them. 1 6
