Sitric Caoch 1 2
Another name for Sitric was Sigtryggr Gale. General Notes: Sitric ua Ímair (Old Norse Sigtryggr), king of Dublin and York, d. 927. Sitric married a sister of Æthelstan of England in 926, but it is not chronologically feasible for her to be the mother of Amlaib Cuaran. Noted events in his life were: • He was a King of Dublin & York from 00 0917 to 921. • He was a King of Northumbria. Sitric married Edith (St) of England, daughter of Edward I the Elder of Wessex and Kent and Ecgwyn, on 30 Jul 925 in Tamworth, Staffordshire, England. (Edith (St) of England died in 937.) |
