In the census for 1900 Hans Chr. was unmarried and living at Thereses Gade 24 in Kristiania with his widowed mother, his unmarried brothers Magnus and Olaf, and his sister Anna who was separated.

Hans Aaser kom som ung i murerlære og arbeidet i flere år ved større byggverker i Norge, Sverige og Danmark. I krigsårene kom han hjem og begynte med jordbruk og havearbeide på en løkke ved Slemdal i Aker.
