When his son Anton was christened in March 1853 he was called Johan Jensen Kløverud.

His year of birth is recorded as 1822 in his baptism record. 1823 is recorded at his death. His wife outlived him.

Johan married Inger Maria Kristensdatter Fjellbu, daughter of Kristen Svensen and Anne Olsdatter, on 19 Mar 1850 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.¹ (Inger Maria Kristensdatter Fjellbu was born on 26 May 1824 in Langbråten u. Henstad, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was christened on 31 May 1824 in Askim church, Askim, Østfold, Norway.)

  Marriage Notes:

When they married Johan was 27 2/3 years old and from the Kløverud farm in Askim. Inger Maria was 25½ years old and from the Fjeldboe farm. The best men at their marriage were Thord Ihlen and Thord Kløverud.

In 1865 the family was on Buer in Askim. Johan was 44 and Inger was 42 years old. They had just one son with them, Iver (16 years old). Their second son, Anton Johansen, could not be found in the census for Askim that year.

Inger's brother Ole Christensen was a lodger with them. ^{1 6}
