Ole died in 1877, and in 1878 Johan got the deed to Kverne and part of the Moseby farm.

His year of death is also recorded as 1911.

In the census for 1900 Johan was a widow. He owned and farmed the Haugen (bnr. 1) farm in Askim. His children, Kristen and Karoline, were with him. 6
