Ole married Gunhild Torsdatter Ilen, daughter of Tor Jensen Ihlen and Ragnhild Gøtesdatter Skavogg, on 22 Mar 1855 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Gunhild Torsdatter Ilen was born on 30 Jan 1834 in Søndre Ihlen, Askim, Østfold, Norway, christened on 9 Feb 1834 in Askim, Østfold, Norway, died on 26 Jul 1920 in Glomvik, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 3 Aug 1920 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.)

When they married Ole was 27 years old and Gunild was 21. He was from the Svinhegle farm in Askim and she was from the Ihlen søndre farm. His father was Christian Olsen and her father was Thord Jensen. The best men at their marriage were Johannes Svinhegle and Carl Frosterud.

In the census for 1900 they owned and farmed the Svinekle vestre farm in Askim. They had two sons, two daughters and a fosterchild with them, all unmarried: Hans, Johan, Gunda, Ragna, and Karen Sofie Olavesdatter born in 1889 in Askim. There were also a few people living there from out of town who worked on the canal or did housework. 1 6
