Johannes got the deed to the Børregården farm in 1865 for 500 kr. He moved there a bit later and lived there until 1872. Then he emigrated with his entire family to the USA.

• He was a joiner [snedker] in 1865 in Korsegården, Askim, Østfold, Norway.

• He was confirmed on 1 Oct 1848 in Askim church, Askim, Østfold, Norway. 1 He was 14 2/3 years old and living on the Katralen farm.


Johannes married Maren Gundersdatter, daughter of Gunder Kristensen Gjellestad and Ragnhild Torersdatter Henstad, on 11 Apr 1862 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Maren Gundersdatter was born on 17 Jan 1839 in Gjellestad, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was christened on 27 Jan 1839 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.)
