Torer Svensen Moen 1
Another name for Torer was Thorer Svendsen. General Notes: Ragnhild Johannesdatter, widow of Mattias Hansen from ytre Torp, owned the vestre Jaeren farm from 1839. When she died in 1840 the farm was sold by auction to Torer Svensen Moen for 862 spdl. (23 Mar 1842). Research Notes: Torer was probably the son of Svend Reyersen (born ca 1771) and Anna Thorersdatter (born ca 1773). Svend and Anna lived on the Moen Mellem farm in Eidsberg during the census of 1801 with their children: Christian (5 years), Halvor (4 years), Hans (2 years), and Svend (1 year). Svend was called the farmer of half the farm. 4 Torer married Ingeborg Torsdatter, daughter of Tor Kristensen and Marthe Hansdatter. (Ingeborg Torsdatter was born in 1809 in Askim, Østfold, Norway and was christened on 3 Apr 1809 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.) Marriage Notes: Thorer and Ingeborg were not married when their first child, Mina, was baptised. |
