He was from Trøgstad. He bought the Magnhildrud farm in 1838 from Ole Kristiansen for 500 spdl. He owned the farm until 1862, when it was sold by auction to Ole Hansen Salseng.

He was 70 years old when he died.


Hans married Tore Johannesdatter. (Tore Johannesdatter was born circa 1801.)
