In the census for 1801 the Grimsrud farm in Røyken, Buskerud, was the home of Even Madsen Grimsrud's (ca 1802 - 1875) father, grandparents, cousin, 4 servants, and a cottager family:

  Research Notes:

At the time the clerical years used to start around Dec. 1. Births/christenings in Dec. 1802 would actually be recorded as taking place in 1803.

Even married Ellen Malene Olsdatter Gjerdal in Nov 1823. (Ellen Malene Olsdatter Gjerdal was born in 1798, died on 3 Dec 1850 and was buried on 13 Dec 1850.)

Even and Ellen had 6 children. ³

Even next married Dortea Helene Hansdatter, daughter of Hans Bentsen Jahren and Anne Karine Hansdatter. (Dortea Helene Hansdatter was born in 1805 in Jahren, Hurum, Buskerud, Norway and was christened on 26 Dec 1805 in Hurum church, Hurum, Buskerud, Norway.)

They had at least four (4) children.

In the census for 1865 they owned and farmed the Grimsrud farm in Røyken, Buskerud. They had 2 unmarried sons with them: Edvard Evensen (27 years old) and "Hans Hansen" (23), both born in Røyken. There were also 3 servants with them; one was Regine Trulsdatter (25), their son Edvard's future wife. ²
