In 1779 Tor bought half of the Svinekle (Glomvik) farm in Askim for 300 rdl. from widow Margrete Olsdatter. He sold it back to her for the same amount in 1784. In 1801 he took over the Blunkeslett u. Henstad farm. Tor married Dorte Bergersdatter on 15 Oct 1778 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Dorte Bergersdatter was born circa 1756 in Radderud, Askim, Østfold, Norway.)   Marriage Notes: When they married they were recorded as Thoer Mathisøn Blunkeslet og Dorthe Bergersdatter Henstad. Thor Mathisen (46), Dorthe Bergersdatter (45), and their 22 year old son Mathis Thorsen were cottagers on the Henstad farm in Askim in 1801. Thor and Dorthe were both in their first marriage. 1 4
