Other names for Karl were Karl Edman and Karl E. Grønlund. General Notes: About 1884 the Grønlund (u. Nordre Løken) farm in Askim was sold to Karl Edmand, who came there from Spydeberg. In 1911 the farm was taken over by his three sons, Bernt, Jens and Lars Grønlund, for 5000 kr. Karl married Thea Mathea Larsdatter, daughter of Lars Thorersen and Maren Olsdatter. (Thea Mathea Larsdatter was born in 1853 in Duggetorp, Spydeberg, Østfold, Norway and died in 1903.) Marriage Notes: In the census for 1900 they owned and farmed the Grønlund farm in Askim. They had a daughter and three sons with them: Klara Mathilde, Bernt Ludvig, Jens Conrad, and Lars Olaf. 3 |
