In the census for 1865 they owned and farmed the Brødremoen nordre farm in Eidsberg. They had two daughters with them. Kristen's brother, Ole Hansen, also lived with them and helped with the farmwork. Ole was then 34 years old, born in Eidsberg, and unmarried. 8
