Ole married Maren Olsdatter Grøttvet, daughter of Ole Hansen Grøttvet and Anne Kristensdatter, on 13 Mar 1856 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.¹ (Maren Olsdatter Grøttvet was born on 4 Mar 1831 in Grøttvet mellom, Askim, Østfold, Norway, christened on 20 Mar 1831 in Askim, Østfold, Norway and died in 1865.)

When they married Ole was 23 years old and from the Qvakkestad farm in Askim. Maren was 25 and from the mellom Grøtvedt farm. His father was Poul Pedersen and hers was Ole Hansen. The best men at their marriage were Carl Gurud and Peder Garsæg.

In February 1858 they were recorded as Ole Poulsen og Maren Olsdr Dæhli.

In 1865 they owned and farmed part of the Dæli farm in Askim. Ole was 33 and Maren was 35 years old. They had four daughters with them: Pouline (10), Anne J. (8), Hanna S. (3), and Josephine (1). ^{1 5}
