Ole married Marte Mattisdatter Rud on 21 Jun 1792 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Marte Mattisdatter Rud was born in 1762 and died in 1831.)


  Marriage Notes:

In 1785 Ole bought half of the Svinekle farm in Askim from his widowed mother for 237 rdl. Ole married widow Marte Mattisdatter on the nedre Rud farm and farmed nedre Rud 1792 - 94. In 1794 Ole bought the other half of the Svinekle farm for 650 rdl., and then took over the entire farm.

In 1801 the family was on Svinekle. Ole was 36 and in his first marriage and Marthe was 39 years old and in her second. With them there were there were: their three children Helene (8), Christine (5), Christian (1); Marthe's first child from her first marriage Hans Hansen (14); and Ole's mother Margrethe (62) "Har levebrød af gaarden" and her husband (Ole's step-father) Johannes Larsen "Hendes mand skildt fra bord og seng", "Daglejer". 4
