In 1801 the family was on the Gjellestad ("Gillestad") farm in Askim. Christen Erichsen was 42 and Anne was 41 years old. They were both in their first marriage. They had their four surviving children with them: Kirsti was 16 years old, Helene was 13, Hans was 9, and Gunder was 4 years old. ⁵
