  General Notes:

Hans bought the Odalen farm in Askim for 6000 kr. The deed was registered on 09 February 1893. He sold it for 6500 kr. in March 1899.

When Lars Jakobsen died in 1897 his two sons divided the Torp Store farm in Askim between them. But in September 1919 Johannes sold his portion to his brother Hans for 32 000 kr.

There is also recorded a Hans Larsen Torp who was married to Johanne Olsdatter (d. 1897) and in about 1893 bought the Søndre Odalen farm in Askim for 6000 kr. He sold it in 1899 for 6500 kr.

Hans married Johanne Marie Olsdatter Nyborg, daughter of Ole Hansen Nyborg and Randine Christiansdatter, on 14 Aug 1891 in Askim church, Askim, Østfold, Norway. (Johanne Marie Olsdatter Nyborg was born on 23 Mar 1867 in Trøgstad, Østfold, Norway and died on 9 Jul 1896 in Odalen, Askim, Østfold, Norway.)

They married the same day as Johanne Marie's sister Milla. ⁶

Hans next married Ragna Hobølhagen, daughter of Anton Andersen Hobølhagen and Maren Pettersen, on 4 May 1900 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.¹ (Ragna Hobølhagen was born on 19 Oct 1881 in Hobølhagen, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was christened on 4 Dec 1881 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.)

  Marriage Notes:

In the census for 1900 they owned and farmed part of the Store Torp farm in Askim. They had two sons with them: Ole Ludvig from Hans' first marriage, and Helge, born 25.06.1900. Hans' daughter from his first marriage, Marie Hansine, was being fostered by his siblings and mother on the other part of Store Torp.

They were living on Torp øvre in Askim in August 1910 and in March 1913. ^{7 8 9}
