Another name for Valentin was Valentin Jensen Fjeldstad. General Notes: Valentin Jensen Gram made use of the Netthaug farm from the mid 1840's until 1855. In 1853 he bought the place from Hans Sypriansen. In 1855 Valentin took over the Tovengbråten [Bråtan] farm after his father-in-law and moved there. He sold Netthaug to Ole Olsen for 180 spdl. Valentin also owned the Fjellstad farm, and before 1865 he moved there. He sold Bråtan to Johan Hansen, who came from Trøgstad. He died on Fjellstad in 1880. Research Notes: His birth year is also recorded as 1810. It was recorded as 1813 when he died. Noted events in his life were: • He was employed. skredder [tailor] Valentin had a child with Anne Halvorsdatter Frøhol, daughter of Halvor Knutsen Frøhol and Ragnhild Svendsdatter Hobøl. (Anne Halvorsdatter Frøhol was born on 18 Dec 1803 in Askim, Østfold, Norway, died on 31 Jan 1878 in Frøhol, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 12 Feb 1878 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.) Valentin next married Helene Gundersdatter, daughter of Gunder Mattisen and Kirstine Hansdatter, on 27 Dec 1841 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Helene Gundersdatter was born in 1814, died on 21 May 1855 in Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 28 May 1855.) Marriage Notes: When they married Valentin Jensen Tovengbraaten was 30½ years old and Helene Gundersdatter Tovengbraaten was 25. Valentin had a child with Elen Kristiansdatter Fjellstad. (Elen Kristiansdatter Fjellstad was born circa 1822 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.) |
