Torer bought the Henstad farm in Askim from his father-in-law in 1811 for 8000 rdl.


Torer married Anikken Mattisdatter Henstad, daughter of Mattis Olsen Henstad and Sigri Olsdatter Eidareng, on 23 Oct 1797 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Anikken Mattisdatter Henstad was born in 1779 and died in 1841.)


  Marriage Notes:

In 1801 Thor Hansen and Annichen Mathisdatter were living on the Dramstad farm in Askim with their daughter Johanne and two servants. Thor was 28 years old, Annichen was 22, and Johanne was 1. 5
